Button Head Screws
Button head screws are threaded fasteners with a smooth, rounded dome-shaped head and an internal hex (Allen) drive. The head is wider and lower in profile than a standard socket cap screw, providing a clean appearance with a broad bearing surface.
They are typically used where:
A low-profile head is preferred
Appearance matters
Clearance above the fastener is limited
Moderate clamping force is sufficient
Button head screws are commonly manufactured in alloy steel, stainless steel, and zinc-plated carbon steel, and are available in both imperial (ASME) and metric (ISO) standards.
Compared to a socket head cap screw, they offer reduced head height but lower maximum strength.
